Music included 3 Fanfares by Casterede on Proclamations of Napoleon, some Gabrieli, music by Los Angeles composers Jim Self & Nick Lane, and a quintet by Georges Delerue. The CCBQ was joined by the Los Angeles Chamber Brass and a few more friends to fill out the ranks. The highlight of the evening was a performance by Norm Pearson, Bill Booth, Alex Iles, Andy Malloy and Bill Reichenbach of Jim Self's Winks n' Jinks. News from the CCBQ
2007 marked our 15th Anniversary season together, and we celebrated with several big recitals. 2008 started with a January concert at Northwood High in Irvine, after a day of participating in their fine music classes. The Big CIty Brass plays June 9 (see Events) and the end of September we anticipate performing at Descanso Gardens in a concert sponsored by the Pasadena Symphony. We will be giving a Faculty/Artist recital at CSULB in the Fall and repeating it at Emmanuel Church in N. Hollywood. We are always planning our next quintet tour to Westport, NY--maybe Summer '09. We look forward to seeing you at our next concert!
